Biography

Professor Christian cavé received his Pharm D in 1980 and this Ph. D. in 1986 from Paris Sud University. He worked , as assistant professor (1990-1997) at the Faculty of Pharmacy of University Paris in the Group of Organic Chemistry ( Professor Jean D'Angelo) and as full professor of Organic Chemistry at University of Burgandy (Dijon) . Then he moved to Faculty of Pharmacy of University Paris Sud in 2002 and he is a full Professor from 2002.. He was the Head of the research team "Organic chemistry and pharmacochemistry " in the UMR CNRS BioCIS (2002/2008) and then joined the group of Antiparasite Chemotherapy , UMR-CNRS BioCIS 8076, at the Faculty of de Pharmacy, University Paris-Saclay. His research interests comprise synthetic organic; Asymmetric synthesis: Asymmetric Michael Reaction; Medicinal Chemistry in the field of alzheimer’ disease, HIV, cancer, leishmaniasis, and malaria; Pharmaceutical Chemistry: Biotransformation, QSAR In Organic Chemistry, we develop synthetic tools that we then use in medicinal chemistry. For example, we have developed the Asymmetric Michael reaction onto cyclic ketones or cyclic or acyclic  ketoesters via chiral imines or enaminoesters derivatives Thus, new chiral ketophosphonates and new chiral -hydroxy esters have been made in order to have access to new analogues of metabotropic glutamate receptors that are highly involved in Alzheimers Disease. Currently we are working on click chemistry in order to synthesize new compounds usable in medicinal chemistry. He is the author or co-author of over 90 scientific papers. He is responsible for the Master degree in Pharmaceutical sciences- https://www.universite-paris-saclay.fr/fr/formation/master/sciences-du-medicament#mention He is Member of editorial boards of various chemical and pharmaceutical reviews; He is member of Executive Committee of European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP) http://www.eafponline.eu, member of Executive Committee of Société de Chimie Thérapeutique (French Society of Medicinal Chemistry) http://www.sct-asso.fr/, member of ACS (American Chemical Society) and SFC (Société Française de Chimie). he has received many honors: Graduate of the Faculté de Pharmacie de Paris-Sud Auguste Béhal Prize for studies and researches, Roussel Prize for Researches in the field of Medicinal Chemistry, Chevalier dans l’ordre des palmes académiques Member of UiTM Academic Advisory Panel for Faculty of Pharmacy, Kuala Lumpur, Malaisie, visiting Professor at Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, guest professor of Guizhou Institut of Technology.
